Biography of Kyryl Yelchyts
Kyryl Yelchyts, born in 1979 in Kyiv, Ukraine, is a visionary creator whose work seamlessly blends art, design, and architecture.
Today, his focus lies on creative conceptual upcycling, where he transforms remnants of conflict and discarded materials into powerful art pieces. His latest projects, *Through Darkness To Light* and “Red Lines”, exemplify this ethos, turning fragments of downed Russian aircraft and parts of exploded missiles into luminous objects that carry deep meaning and emotional resonance.
Kyryl's ability to breathe new life into everyday objects reflects his philosophy of transformation—finding beauty, hope, and renewal in the unexpected. From lighting fixtures that merge industrial elements with artistic symbolism to installations that provoke thought and conversation, Kyryl's work stands at the intersection of functionality and artistic expression.
His creative journey has always been marked by a search for new forms and ideas. Originally trained as an architect in Kyiv, Ukraine, Kyryl brings a unique perspective to his art, allowing him to explore the relationship between space, light, and human experience. His work speaks not only to the reality of Ukraine’s current struggles but also to the broader human capacity for resilience, renewal, and connection.
